MUSIC
EDUCATION

CULTURAL PRESERVATION

CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

La Escuelita del Ritmo uses music as a tool for inclusion and social change, offering classes aimed at children and youth in the Portobelo district, often at risk of social exclusion, lacking educational opportunities and professional development. In this transforming work, we want to empower  girls, boys and young people of Portobelo as protagonists of their culture and, through it, strengthen their identity, improve their quality of life and their interpersonal relationships.

Creativity and the development of critical thinking fosters love for the cultural and natural heritage that surrounds us and are the catalysts for a culture of peace and equality, and sustainable development.

CLASSES Y METHODOLOGY:

Classes are free and open to everyone, with a multitude of possibilities: percussion, guitar, string bass, piano, singing, trumpet, saxophone, trombone, clarinet, transverse flute, recorder, wind bass, violin and dance.

The educational project is based on innovative pedagogical methods, such as Orff, Dalcroze, Kodaly, Willems and Wuytack Methodology, among others. His starting point is to stimulate and develop creativity and aesthetic sensitivity.

We have appropriate facilities for teaching: five music classrooms, one for dance and workshops, a study room, a computer and English labs, a recording studio and a multipurpose room for concerts, film series and presentations of artistic projects, among other activities.
